COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: Hot Yoga East Nashville - Buti Yoga

Life is, by nature, unpredictable. And when the incredibly unexpected happens, we don’t get to choose much more than our response. Overnight tragedy struck the city of Nashville in the form of devastating tornadoes. Hot Yoga East Nashville, a studio that has been the home to so many Buti Yoga trainings, master trainers and butisattvas over the years, was spared extreme structural damage, but is currently without power. However, as we all know, studios themselves are very special spaces, but it is truly the people that make a studio and the people, the family that is housed by Hot Yoga East is suffering. Students and instructors both have been heavily affected by last night’s events - some losing everything. Buti Yoga is a tribe. And we, the community that makes up this tribe, takes care of our own. While it is too early to tell what the great and exact needs are for the people of HYEN, we would like to give you the opportunity to do what this tribe does best - and deliver the medicine.

Studio owner, Brooke Allison, has this to say about the status of her studio and community as of this afternoon:

“Our entire neighborhood was destroyed or severely damaged. The studio suffered some damage but nothing to keep us from opening again when the power is restored. It was a total miracle considering the damage to the buildings on all sides of us! Praise the Lord! We are taking donations for our teachers and students who lost homes but don’t have an official site yet.”
