ABOUT BUTI 200 HR YTT:
Our Yoga Alliance accredited program certifies you to teach Vinyasa Flow, Hot Yoga + Buti Yoga. Upon successful completion of the program, testing + demonstration you will receive your 200 HR YTT certificate to be eligible for YA 200 RYT designation.
This dynamic yoga methodology focuses on the interconnectedness between the physical body (anatomy & physiology), emotional body (socio-emotional development through the lens of Chakra Diagnostics) + energetic body (Chakra system, Nadis, Koshas + their connection to the endocrine system). Throughout the 5-month program, we teach concepts + tools via visual, auditory + kinesthetic means to ensure proper assimilation of knowledge for all students. Each 200 HR training takes place over (6) Friday to Sunday weekends, held once a month for 6 consecutive months at your training location.
We consistently relate our yogic knowledge back to Chakra diagnostics to emphasize the interconnectedness of physical, psychological + energetic structures involved in the practice. We empower students to breakthrough self-destructive patterns that may affect their day-to-day lives as well as inevitably impact their leadership skills as yoga practitioners.
Unit 1 begins with The Practice + History of Yoga—students understand + discuss yoga lineages + the unique qualities that define each style. We then move to Yoga- The Effects on the Systems of the Human Body, including an overview of how each bodily system is affected by the practice of Yoga. In Breathing + Beyond, we explore pranayama + the basic principles of physical + energetic anatomy. Unit 1 concludes with 2-Days of Buti Certification.
We begin Unit 2 by exploring each Yoga Pose + Sanskrit. The Foundations of Hatha Yoga are reviewed pose by pose including Standing, Seated + Twisting Poses. Students will be tested on both energetic + physical anatomy in this Unit. We then dive deeper dive into the Chakra system including Chakras, Koshas + Nadis & their relationship with the nervous + endocrine systems. Unit 2 focus is on static anatomy + physiology; identification methods tested are physical touch + visual through fill-in-the-blank. Common misalignments + how to correct form for each pose in our Foundations of Hatha section will be taught + practiced in pairs along with building the foundation for proper cueing.
Unit 3 delves deeper into movement anatomy + physiology. We begin to understand how physical structures interact with energetic structures in the application + practice of dynamic asana. Students will also complete a body pathology segment which helps students learn how to scan posture + alignment to determine muscle weakness, injury or postural abnormality. Unit 3 will finish with pose prescription, sequencing + hands-on adjustments. Demonstration of concepts taught will be conducted in pairs.
Unit 4 begins with a journey through pranayama (controlled breathing techniques). Students will learn the basics of breath work, benefits, and learn to confidently teach and use pranayama in their classes. The course then moves into the world of Chakras and students discover the physical, energetic, and emotional workings of the Chakra system. Students will learn how to identify and rectify their unique Chakra imbalances through asana, breath work, mantra and many other healing modalities. Leadership styles finishes off this unit of self discovery and we delve into how we are currently leading ourselves and look at how we wish to lead ourselves and our students. This unit builds on the teachings of the prior units and further prepares students for their final testing unit.
Unit 5 This unit is carefully structured to optimally support you in gaining, retaining and applying knowledge that prepares you to teach and continuously evolve. As the final unit, the lessons, practice and additional resources guide you in “connecting the dots” between all the concepts from previous units to facilitate future learning while teaching. We dive deeper into the explanation of fascia using descriptive phrases that help students to get a clearer sense for this pervasive tissue. Explain functions of fascia and describe what it communicates to the brain about. We take a journey through beliefs, emotions, apply multi-level yoga techniques, and create plans and progress tracking to use well past program graduation. We all draw from an infinite field of inspiration and intelligence. When learning new information, it may be the same information that others have learned, but how you integrate it into your unique set of life experiences and ultimately apply it will be a unique expression that no one else can replicate.
Unit 6 is where students explore muscle testing + engagement with a partner. The Final Exam takes place over 2 days + includes a teaching demo, cumulative written exam + partner cueing + adjustment assessment.
